SUMMARY:Driving Sustainable Rice Cultivation: Understanding the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators
DESCRIPTION:Driving Sustainable Rice Cultivation: Understanding the SRP Standard and Performance Indicators\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication Link: https://bit.ly/3O0TOHg  \n\n\n\nCourse Fee: $685 \n\n\n\nThe Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) promotes resource-use efficiency and sustainability in the global rice sector to enable 1 million rice farmers to adopt climate-smart\, sustainable best practices in rice production\, boosting farm incomes and livelihoods and protecting our environment. \n\n\n\nSRP aims to build an expert pool of SRP Authorized Training Providers (institutions)\, Trainers (individuals)\, and Auditors to deliver the most current and accurate know-how on the core SRP instruments to SRP Registered Projects\, SRP Members\, and other rice sector stakeholders – to help scale implementation globally and at high-quality. \n\n\n\nThis course\, Driving Sustainable Rice Cultivation: Understanding the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) Standard & Performance Indicators\, is a three-day intensive skills course designed to help participants relate the benefits of sustainable rice farming to farmers; explain the SRP Standards on rice cultivation and the performance indicators; and conduct data collection and assessment among farmers to measure compliance to SRP performance indicators \n\n\n\nObjectives \n\n\n\nAt the end of the training\, the participants will: \n\n\n\n\nUnderstand the purpose of the SRP instruments: focus on the SRP Standard & Performance Indicators\, how they are linked\, and how they can be used together to drive sustainable rice cultivation; and\n\n\n\nGain understanding of application of SRP Standard and Performance Indicators to meet targets of SRP outreach projects\n\n\n\n\nKey Modules \n\n\n\n\nIntroduction to Sustainable Rice\n\n\n\nSRP Standards: 1) Conceptual Framework of the Standard\, 2) Understanding the 41 Requirements in the SRP Standard\n\n\n\nSRP Performance Indicators: 1) Conceptual Framework of the Standard 2) Understanding the 12 SRP Performance Indicators 3) Using the PIs for Measuring Impact\n\n\n\nAssurance Scheme\n\n\n\n\nCertification \n\n\n\nSuccessful participants from this training will be awarded the SRP Authorized Trainer certification \n\n\n\nCourse Duration/Format \n\n\n\nFive (5) days; Online training \n\n\n\nTarget Audience \n\n\n\nTraining-of-trainers style course for persons who will rain individuals or teams to implement farmer outreach and capacity building activities (e.g. public officials\, development practitioners\, private company representatives\, NGOs\, program managers\, consultants\, lead farmers\, or related persons); prior experience as a trainer is highly recommended. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNote \n\n\n\nThe SRP course has been scheduled for the week following the conclusion of the 6th International Rice Congress\, allowing international participants to plan out their travel for the IRC with their attendance at the training

SUMMARY:Training Workshop on Self-sufficiency\, Food Security and Agricultural Transformation
DESCRIPTION:This course will explore food security\, food self-sufficiency and the food price dilemma faced by agricultural price policies. It will examine the different types of policies used to achieve those objectives and discuss their advantages and disadvantages. Finally\, it will discuss drivers of structural and agricultural transformation\, and the role of agriculture in alleviating poverty and malnutrition. \n\n\n\nRead more…

SUMMARY:Introduction to CGIAR Innovation Packages and Scaling Readiness (IPSR)
DESCRIPTION:Scaling of innovations is a key requirement for addressing societal challenges in sectors such as health\, agriculture\, and the environment. Research for development (R4D) programs\, projects and other interventions struggle to make particular innovations go to scale. \n\n\n\nThe Introduction to CGIAR Innovation Packages and Scaling Readiness (IPSR) offers IRRI participants a comprehensive understanding of how to design\, implement\, and monitor scaling strategies for agricultural innovations within research for development contexts. This course leverages the principles and tools of Scaling Readiness\, a framework developed by CGIAR and led by Wageningen University and IITA\, to support decision-making on the scaling of innovations. \n\n\n\nThe Scaling Readiness is an essential knowledge and tools to effectively scale agricultural innovations within the framework of One CGIAR’s new stage-gating and performance management system. Scaling Readiness plays a crucial role in this cross-CGIAR initiative\, driving significant changes across the organization by ensuring that all CGIAR Initiatives adopt and integrate its principles. Participants will learn to assess the readiness of innovations\, identify bottlenecks\, and develop strategies to overcome these challenges\, thereby increasing the likelihood of achieving development outcomes at scale. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how Scaling Readiness has been successfully embedded in the project and performance management systems of CGIAR Research Initiative\, and how its application can contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through more effective innovation scaling strategies. Through its standardized data collection and analysis approach\, Scaling Readiness can be used to monitor a portfolio of innovation and scaling investments. It also supports prioritization\, and decisions on the advancement of innovations to achieve societal outcomes at scale in the most resource-efficient way.
