Two training courses on SNPs to GWAS will be held this year, an introductory course and an advanced one. The beginners’ course will lay the foundation for GWAS using easily accessible tools and the initial steps to identify candidate gene(s). The advanced course will begin with SNP discovery, filtering, and QC, and then proceed to GWAS using additional methods and models, and more rigorous approaches for pinpointing candidate genes through convergent evidence. The species of study will be the inbred Asian domesticated rice, Oryza sativa.
